My girlfriend has just got one of those and its a nice machine. Unfortunately there are some problems and I wonder if anyone has seem them before?

Sometimes when booting to vista, there is no sound. If she loads Express Gate and them restarts to SO then there is sound. This is extremely annoying as you can imagine.

Second, where can I find more information about Express Gate? There is no keyboard layout for the Portuguese Keyboard and suddenly it no longer is able to access the user folders (for pictures and music).

For your sound issue, I would try and install newer audio drivers from the Asus website. Try that first and see if that solves your problem.

    Thanks for the tip mgymnop

How in hell I forgot to check this!

    "BIOS 208
1.Fix “There is no sound in Windows after disabling POST wave in setup menu”.
    2.Update EzFlash to v1.14. "

I don't have the computer with me now, I'll check the version later.
