For games or for your desktop resolution? I'm confused.

    You should have them.

    Reinstall your Ati video drivers.

This is a good chance for you to test out Ati's new 6.1 drivers.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Ye i have no idea how you manage that. Even windows xp without any drivers recognized the right res. You must have tweaked the heck out of your lappy

Xp doesnt always recognize widescreen. I have run into it many times where it needs the exact driver. Just reinstall the driver and it will work fine.

Not always ofcourse but xp sp2 does have support for most later vga card built in so does pre sp2. Ofcourse what version sp is slipstreamed onto the disk makes a difference but i am speaking of sp2 which has full support for the res here.

Eddy is correct. It should have recognized the res' automatically.

Maybe a bad installation of the driver or xp corruption? I doubt the corruption, just reinstall your drivers.

    Everything will be allllllllright. :)

    Cheers,
    Mike

well I should have been more specific. I mean for game support. If I want to play a game and use open gl or direct 3d I cant use wide screen and have to use 1024x768 :(

That's largely dependant on the game, I would think. Which game are you playing?
