Does anyone know how I can recover my notebook since after I updated my Windows 8 to 8.1 I seem to not be able to use the F9 boot up way and do a full clean since it says there is no partition found. Also I tried using the PC settings and goto full recover that was also but same thing happens after I get the troubleshooting blue screen so I can do the full recover. I have a ASUS X551MA that just came out few weeks agao.

Btw on the specs it says it comes pre loaded with 8.1 but that's not true it only came with Windows 8.

this is the message I get

unable to reset your pc. A required drive partition is missing.

I have also tried auto repair and other things that troubleshooter has like refresh you pc but that doesn't work either.

I basically want to put back Windows 8 again.

You gave 3 hours for a response, but feel free to ask for your money back.

It was more than 3 hours I posted this question before I got upset since no one replied.

But if you guys can tell me if I do upgrade to windows 8.1 again how will I be able to recover the system so I don't have to exchange with the same notebook again? I saw that over 100 people viewed this topic and no replies so I assumed you guys were ignoring me but maybe I was thinking too much.

If it's possible I would rather use windows 8.1 if I can recover my system like new again.

You should make a set of Recovery Discs using ASUS Backtracer utility.
Then update all drivers to the latest version to make sure they are Win8.1 ready, check BIOS on ASUS's website to make sure it is also up-to-date.
Proceed to update Windows to 8.1.

The recovery partition should remain in tact in spite of the upgrade, but you always want to back it up. Use a USB drive or DVDs to have an alternative, hard copy. So many end users end up not doing this and are later stuck with a machine they can't recover unless they pay for it.
