I have downloaded a F3jp acpi file and I am using it with notebook hardware control.

What I am wondering about is when you go into 'ACPI control system options' you can change the fan settings. In here you can enter temperature for fan on and off on different levels. eg:

    FAN ON 1 level : 35
    FAN ON 2 level : 40
    FAN ON 3 level : 45
    FAN OFF 1 level : 33
    FAN OFF 2 level : 38
    FAN OFF 3 level : 43

How does this work? Does the fan turn off when it gets to 38? What happens in between eg 40 and 45?

What sort of temperatures are people getting for the F3jp?

Is there anyway to actually monitor the fan rpm?

    Enough questions for now :p

If I disable 'ACPI control system' in Notebook Hardware Control does that just disable NHC controlling it or does it disable it completely. If it just disables it in NHC, does it use ACPI information built into the bios?

just in NHC..... it will use the normal temps set in the bios.

    FAN ON 1 level : 35
    FAN OFF 1 level : 33

    FAN ON 2 level : 40
    FAN OFF 2 level : 38

    FAN ON 3 level : 45
    FAN OFF 3 level : 43

perhaps thats makes it a bit clearer. eg. fan comes on at 35 degreed and stays there till 33 degrees.

if it passes 40degrees fan will go faster untill 38 degrees and so on.

you can set all the temps up if you want a quieter system.
