Just bought a C90 *still on shipping* from ncix, with e6600, 2+1 gig corsair, 256 gddr3, 160g 7200rpm hd from seagate and intel ndraft wireless card, after reading a lot of posts seems like cooling might be a problem, so im seeing if anyone has any suggestion on a notebook cooler for c90. Due to the fact that the c90 has 4 fans draws air outof the comp in the back, so im not sure which one can be the most efficiently help it cool down, with some help of enlarging the holes on the bottom~ thanks

    3+1 GiG? How?

And the c90s heating problem is not as bad as people say it is. The touchpad may get hot sometimes but it really doesn't allow you to fry an egg on it, so it's fine. If you need a budget cooler get the Targus, if money isn't an object, the Zalman will do.

I picked up a cheap Thermaltake cooler @ ClubIt.com for like 14 bucks & free shipping. It's working rather nicely on my c90 esp with my Gpu holes right over the fan area.

The Zalmans is the one I wanted the most aswell. The key place to get air into the machine would be right under the back of the laptop where the cooler is, and the vent above the southbridge/ram.

Blowing air in the ram area kept my machine from crashing when it had heat problems and cooled down both the gpu and cpu alot. Blowing air thru the turbo vent area in the back will enhance the native cooling of the machine because those little fans cant move much air without really going fast (and making noise while there at it)

The Zalmans looks like it should fit the bill great, but I have no idea just how strong the air flow is near the middle of the pad It wins in looks and quality tho.

The other one that had my eye is the Coolermaster Infiinity, it has one BIG fan type design and pulls air from the side of the cooler instead of the bottom . This lets you use it in your lap or in bed with no ill effects. It has a tilt just like the zalmans and its cheaper. However I have yet to see any good (performance) reviews of it yet, and its definitely not as nice looking as the zalmans.

=D I'll get a zalman then XD its good looking too, and I'll pull out a full bench review with the cooler and without it after i get the notebook ... also theres one question to you guys who own a c90, is there enough space to build a heatsink by ourself for ram? .... or the ram is really really close to the case that its nearly impossible? thanks

Im waiting for one of you guys to do a c90 + zalmans review, and hope somebody else does a collermaster infinite, its like 20$ cheaper and may perform just as good or better.

I have my ventilation mod planned out, just need to work up the time/guts to do it and maybe buy a new tool to do it perfectly and some sand paper.

I also have a great idea with using the optical drive area for a fan, but I am not going to go that far.

i'm also making a fan that will fit inside the case on my own, ill have a horizontal testing with vista ultimate, on 1 gb ram, 2 gb ram 3 gb ram, and each in over clock mode, gaming mode, and standard mode, and then run all the test again with temp testing one with zalman, one with my own fan, one with both XD ... if mine arrive this weekend ill prob be doing that all weekend long... with the hope that my corsair doesnt screw up, or ill have to change it ... but my expecting date is next week for arrival or the week after =_= ... they are having problem with my gddr3 card and my intel ndraft wireless card =_=

I bought a zalman as I saw it recommended at this forums and I am very pleased with it.. with really little noise it brought down the temperatures for 15 C and now they are on the normal levels (normal CPU 50, GPU 69, gaming CPU 70, GPU 93). I don't use OC or UC, but I will try it when I finely stabilize my system (I had a problem with a faulty directx that came with some version of Bioshock :)

As much as I like the zalmans I think the coolermaster infinity would be the one I would get since its nearly 1/2 the price and the fan is near the center, so I know the airflow is right where I need it. in adition the intake vent is on the back, not the botom so it can be used in your lap or on a bed or something of that nature.

I've been using this notebook cooler for a few months and it's excellent. Got it on ebay for like $10 inc shipping.

Here's some specs w/ the cooler (at idle)
    CPU: 54/55C
    GPU: 64C
    HDD: 52C

Surprisingly, this cooler doesn't draw in the hot air from the turbo engine. The air flowing under my c90s is actually entirely cool.

I have the zalmans inbound. I got the free "budget" shipping so it wont be here for like 2 weeks but I will give a good review of how it works, both with and without my extra cooling mod.
