I am having heat issues with my W3V. I know it is hotter than it used to be. I can hear the fan running, and I think it is as loud as usual, however I don't feel much hot air coming out of the top right hand side, and I know I used to feel more. I have some compressed air available. Is there any way to do some testing of the fan and/or clean the airway / pathway out a bit to improve air flow. I don't think there is technically anything wrong, maybe just dust. Anywhere that you can suggest to clean? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, when I install Asus PC Probe, I get some errors so I can't quantitatively be sure the fan is running like normal, but I am fairly certain. Thanks,

Unless you run this 24/7 in a dirty environment you should leave it alone. Download nhc notebook hardware control and see what the temp is. if at idle its at or around 60C then you are ok!

I light vacuum cant hurt, but like eddie said, it shouldnt be necessary unless you house is very dusty....if it is you should be able to see build up on the external air vents.

Yeah, I would like to try to clean it out if possible. I am aware of the risks, but right now it is getting hotter all the time. It is on quite a number of hours. I don't think it's too dusty where I live, but I know the fan used to crank out a lot more warm air than it does now... I used NHC and am seing a regular increase in idle temp, even with maximal undervolting...

From time to time I give my notebook a good clean by a standard household vacuum cleaner. Apart from the fan and cooling system getting progressively clogged, the first place that dust collects is wherever the air goes into the computer before it is blown out by the fan. If those inlets get blocked then the air can't get in for the fan to blow out.

Compressed air cans are also effective for shifting dirt. However, they are going to blow the dirt further into your computer when you are wanting to such the much out.
