This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    *Notice* Rebates and Extra Warranty Deals Expire on Sunday!

    Just incase some of you have forgotten, the following are set to expire on Sunday, July 31st:

    W3v - $200 Rebate
    W1n w/ combo - $300 Rebate

    Ensemble Notebooks - Extra Year North American Warranty

    Word has it that the warranty program was a failure and all it proved to do was make sure Asus is taking care of all of these systems for another year. It doesn't look like this program will continue or even come back at some point in this current setup.

    The rebates were also a failure in a way on the W3. Rebates give people a certain idea that the notebook is old or getting replaced. When, infact, Tiawan just sent them an extra shipment that they weren't expected.

    I guess the point is, these deals are pretty darn good and I don't think Asus is going to be doing something like this again for a while... at least untill they try to come up with another plan of attack...... So, enjoy it while it lasts.
