Notice: Asus rebates running out / New models and December stock

I just wanted to drop a note to remind everyone of a few things most likely on the minds of those in this forum.

1. On 12/10 Asus' rebates for what are left of the Core Duo models run out. We're also running specials on some of those models as well for this week.

2. Some highly anticipated models will be coming out this month (G1p/G2p/W2pb/V1jp) and for the most part, the best way to get your hands on one would be to backorder them. We have a backorder up and running for the first three and some of those with orders will actuall be getting theirs delivered some time this week, while others are going to have to wait for the next large shipment. The reason backorders are important to place are because this time of year things go fast...... people are getting orders in at such a rate that by time the stock shows up, they are usually all gone or close to it. These models will be no exception. The V1jp may not be in until just after New Years, but we don't expect it any time sooner.

3. In terms of current products, the list below will explain at least our own stock and how that impacts the consumers:

Backordered - due to parts shortages - Must place backorder to have chance at stock:

R1f - 20 coming in around the 11-15 (7 backordered as of 12/4)
R2h - 50-60 arriving over the month of December (18 backordered as of 12/4)

A8js - Low stock, next shipment mid to late December (9 pieces as of 12/4)
W7jp - Low stock, next shipment mid to late December (8 pieces as of 12/4)
W3jp - Very low stock, no more shipments until 2007 (4 pieces as of 12/4)
S6f - Only 4 pieces left - With big rebates they won't last long
W5f - Only 2 pieces left


Our situation shouldn't be all that different from most others, and with the holidays coming up and people trying to get things in before the end of the y ear for taxes, you've got to consider availability of stock - or lack there of - especially considering the demands of this time of year.

I almost forgot, we finally got in the extra year warranty packs for the Core 2 Duo notebooks which come with a standard 2 year warranty. I'm going to make a dedicated thread about this, so look out for that.

Today is the last day for the free extra year warranty on all of the older Core Duo models... The rebates on them run out next Tuesday.
