I have read through your ordeal with Lenovo and I am sad to see this happen.
In your thread you stated that you are interested in the V1JP, and now here your interested int he W3JB and V2.
As you already know these models are all different sizes and it is hard to compare them without knowing exactly what your looking for in a laptop.
I suggest filling out the FAQ again if you haven't already.
It also seems your looking for a laptop with great build quality and business style design. I'm not sure if the G1 would be of interest or even the G2 to you.
As you know the V2 is not out yet and we don't have a real ETA, just estimates around March.
It also seems that you may have Time on your side if your willing to wait to see the V2. But I also understand you haven't had a notebook for quite some time due to the Lenovo ordeal.
The next thing to consider is what will you be using the notebook for? School, home, work? Or a combination of these? Will you need a lot of battery life? The W3J or A8js may be of interest to you for 14" notebooks. The W3J and V1JP both feature a multi-bay in which you can place a modular bay battery in it to get extended battery life.
So at this moment you do have a lot of options. -
I was never too interested in the V1j, the Asus notebooks I always liked most were the S5n, W1, W2, and V6. Unfortunately for me there's only one of those available with a modern configuration.

Dude.... the difference between what will be the V2 in a 14" and the W2 as a 17" is huge... They're both great in their own right, but you're looking at apples and pumpkins here... the W2 is basically twice the weight of the V2 and they're in two totally different classes.
You need to decide on one thing first... what will your use be? (ie: where will you use, what programs/games, etc)...... Weight and size will become an issue then. Now, I could say you could get a V2 and the docking station and a nice big desktop monitor and not lose any mobility..... and still come out cheaper than the W2..... but then you don't have the graphics power of the W2 either.... So, you've got some thinking to do in terms of your real world use. -
Haha apples and pumpkins
I don't know how much I care about weight really, if my desktop computer had a foldout keyboard and LCD and battery, and a handle to carry it around I probably would.

Well, you say you don't care about weight.... but that's bs... You don't buy a 14" because you like it smaller.... if weight and money (which also seems not to be an issue) wasn't an issue.... you'd probably have a 42" HD montior to do your work on..... So, if you're looking for knock down performance and quality.... get the W2.
However, the difference between 7.5 pounds and 5 pounds is HUGE.... Over 6 pounds is basically what we'd consider "portable", but not "mobile".... I also know that every 1/4 pound under 6 is completely noticable.... basically I'll tell you right now that the W2 will stay home.... the V2 is light enough and small enough that you can take it with you almost everywhere and it'll never get in your way..........
Plus, you've got the modular bay on the V2 which helps with battery life even more.. I certainly won't tell you what to get... both your options are going to be great systems... I just think one may be the actual "right one" for you, while the other may just be what you'd like and think you can live with.
.... think that makes sense? -
Okay, we're just guessing what you want. How about you list 5 things you want most in a notebook. Great keyboard? High resolution screen? Doesn't get warm underneath? You tell us.

The reasons I bought a T60p:
Built like a tank
4:3 screen ratio (better for programming and reading)
256MB ATI FireGL card (x1700 family i believe)
15" Flexview (IPS screen)
Very lightweight and portable computer
Incredible keyboard
I'm okay with widescreen aspect ratio, but the T60p had a great balance of features, I just couldn't get one in my posession buying from Lenovo. -

.... what you want is an exact replacement for the V6va... I know you... both are really not replacements for it... Even the V1 isn't a great replacement for the V6, but it's honestly closer to what you really want in terms of size and power.....
.. Nothing will replace the V6, but the V1 is closer than the V2 or the W2.
Now I'm thinking of a W2PB or V2
