The 8600m has the VBIOS on a chip, and my C90s will only work with the GPU cards that have VBIOS on it, as I guess is the case with most Asus laptops that have dedicated GPUs. Does anyone know if the 8600 card like the one shown in the picture here all come with the VBIOS on the card or are there some out there that don't, according to info online the VBIOS chip is the 8 legged chip in upper left corner of the front of the card, can anyone confirm this? If the card was a pull from like a Alienware or something, would the VBIOS have to be flashed for the particular laptop? In this case C90s? I guess what I'm asking is can I replace my 8600 card with any 8600 card that has a VBIOS chip?
    Thanks

This picture that you've shown is a MSI-version of 8600M which has a VGA BIOS, and it's located at the corner with a green sticker on the top.

Typically asus make their own non MXM compatible boards with the vbios located in the system bios.

They also like reversing the MXM connector.

The C90 is a little different fortunately:

Your right I sort of noticed the reverse connector but didn't think much about it, so obviously you can't put an 8600 with the connector on the other side in a C90s or p, hmm makes you wonder why the did that? Ive been to the MXM Upgrade page, but figured since MXMupgrade is no longer doing business that it wasn't much there.

I understand, does that mean that type of card will , or will not work with C90, barring the reverse connector?

The reverse connector was used to stop people changing the card and upgrading.
