Any owners of the UX32VD that installed a fresh copy of W7 out there?

I've been trying to finalize my install, but the nvidia driver has been giving me grief. The latest one(from July) on the Asus site coupled with the latest Intel GMA driver from the Asus site causes a black screen on boot.... not very useful. If I boot in safe mode, and uninstall the nvidia drivers, it gets fixed.

SO, I went on the Nvidia site and downloaded the latest Verde drivers, and STILL it did not feel like working for some reason, same black screen issue.

What the hell is going on here? Had to install an outdated April version to actually get it to work.

Try downloading the latest beta drivers from the Nvidia website. I've never had any Nvidia driver issues on my UX32VD.

Have you tried uninstalling the old drivers and then using DriverFusion to clean out all of the remnants before installing the newer ones?

Yep, that's the only way that I ever install drivers... Safe Mode->Driver Fusion and then a reboot before installing the new ones.

I feel it's some sort of incompatability between the Intel drivers and the newer Nvidia drivers... would be nice if I could actually get it to work together.

Did you try to uninstall both Intel and NVidia drivers, and then istall just the Nvidia driver? Optimus drivers should come bundled with compatible Intel drivers, so that might (or might not :) ) help...

well, i've been able to install the latest Nvidia verde drivers now, but I don't have intel drivers now... I'm going to try installing the latest intel from their website and see if it works

    nope, didn't work.
tried a combination of installing latest Intel and Nvidia(so I first tried removing both, installing nvidia first, then intel. That didn't work so I tried the reverse, and it still didn't work.

Oh well, now running on 296.46 because apparently later versions of the Nvidia MOBILE drivers aren't compatible with Optimus(..... )

At least I'm running the latest Intel 4000 drivers now.... :3
