Hi, i just bought a UX32VD and wanted to do a clean install of windows 7. To my understanding, there should be an oem windows 7 key that comes with the laptop. Is it possible to use this as an activation key for the clean install? also, i was not able to locate this key on my laptop and was hoping i can get help locating it.
    thanks for all your help!

Yes it's possible if you download and use the ABR (Activation Backup and Restore) utility to backup the OEM key before you do the new install and then use the utility to restore the OEM key after the new install is done. This saves you the trouble of having to call Microsoft to activate the personal key that is located on the power supply. Get the ABRbeta.exe that has the WIN7 support.

Can't you simply install the new version of windows with the key that's located on the license sticker?

You don't need ABR beta, but it does save you some time.

Yes you can, it's the same as using ABR beta, activating windows will just take some more time.

I could be mistaken, but look for the windows sticker on the power adapter.

thanks! it is located on the power adapter. since abr beta saves me time, then this is the recommended path to doing a clean install? also, would i just need to run the iso on a usb to start the install?

Yes you do, and I believe you need to slipstream the USB 3 driver as well in bios.
