    Hi,

I'm an owner of an M50VM-A1 on vista and I seem to have some problems with it. I've been somewhat busy so I haven't had much time to fiddle around with it and haven't changed any major settings but i've managed to install the programs I need etc.

However something is very odd when I boot up my notebook.

If i boot it up with the battery taken out and plugged into the wall everything is fine.

If i boot it up with the battery and plugged in it seems completly fine as well.

However, if i boot it up with just the battery and nothing else I get a white Asus background (which isn't the background i'm using), my sidebar is gone, my start bar auto hides itself (which shouldn't) and my desktop items are hidden. Each time i boot up i'd have to select my background again, enable my side bar again, fix up my desktop icons again etc etc and its really fustrating.

    Any help would be appreciated.

What you're experiencing is the ASUS Power4Gear application in battery-saving mode. Right-click on your battery icon in the taskbar notification area and choose Power4Gear Extreme to change it's settings to your personal preferences.
