I don't think anyone else has had this problem, but the other day when I installed WoW on my laptop, I had to use CD's to install it. I went on to go and install a different game, which was on DVD, and it didn't read the disc. The computer was acting as if there was no disc in the first place. I tried putting in a different DVD, same problem. However, when I put in a CD, it worked. I tried reinstalling the driver software, checking for updates, etc. and everything was fine.
Does anyone have any idea about how I can fix this? I can't live without playing DMC4 for very long.....

Since there are 2 different lasers in your optical drive (one for CD, one for DVD), the one for your DVD seems to be faulty. If you're still under warranty, I would contact Asus for a replacement drive; if your warranty is expired, you can always purchase a new drive from ebay and replace it yourself.

Well, I have a G1S which suffered a GPU burnout, would I be able to use the drive from that one?

Yes, that should work without any issues.

Did it, and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much!
I also managed to replace the screen with the old one too, so now my resolution is back up to its glory of 1680x1050 resolution! Oh yeah!
