At least with the 2 ASUS notebooks that I have, there was no need to burn the partition as they both came with discs which are identical to that recovery partition. I have restored my lappies from both the hdd and cds and there was no difference, except that the hdd was a much faster process and didnt require 3 cd changes. Thus if you have those discs then u dont have to bother re-burning them....Likewise u can also delete the hidden partition to gain a few extra gbs of space.

i don't use recovery cd to reload the windows. i only use a windows xp to recreate 2 partitions during instatllation. After the installation of windows and all drivers, then i use a specific software to clone the windows to make an image to 2nd partiton. In the future, if the windows is corrupt, i need that specific software to transfer the image from 2nd partition to 1st partition. This way is very helpful in all my desktop and latpop computers.
