hi could anybody help me about flashing bios "patches"?

first of all my understanding is that flashing a new bios can add new features and new interface to the bios setup. Is there such a thing as Updates for a laptop that are in ROM format? how do i use this?
    example is here: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Eee_PC_1005HA_Seashell/HelpDesk_Download/

under the BIOS tab on the support page of my device, there are several downloadable BIOS roms , "improve battery life", "Adjust thermal" etc.

Do i need to flash each one of these ( like android flashable zips thru custom recovery) using usb or winflash method? or do i just need to flash the latest?

No, features are not manually updated one by one. A single update to the BIOS should unlock more than one function and/or correct more than one issue. It's advised you update the BIOS only if absolutely necessary, though, as flashing a system involves risk.
