Hi everyone,
I decided to come on this forum to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Asus forcing me to use old gpu drivers. I have the G75VX-T4043HM with the GTX 670MX. The drivers I have are 306.14 while on nvidia.com there are 310.70 that I can not install. How can Asus force us to use old drivers and not keep updating them? This is ridiculous!
So if I uninstall the old ones (306.14) will I be able to install the ones from nvidia.com 310.70? I know this would screw up my function keys but whatever.. Can anyone confirm a workaround in which the function keys can work with drivers installed from nvidia.com? Further on, are there any other issues that might come up once I do this?
Regards,
Nick

Did Asus tell you that the updated driver would hinder your FN keys or the keyboard mapping for them? I don't understand how a video driver would conflict with keyboard functionality, as keyboard functionality is typically firmware related and not a correspondent to GPU drivers.
My suggestions is that if you try to update and it causes you flack, then roll back (rhyming like a boss here). You won't destroy your system (unless Asus told you a simple driver update for your graphics will brick your machine... sheesh!). -
I just tried this.. uninstalled stock drivers and when trying to install the 310.70 the system says "Can not find compatible hardware" even though they are for the same gpu and windows 8 64-bit.. I am ready to say screw IT to the legal version of windows I have and install a non-legal one just to have the latest drivers... but am I gonna be able to install them? Who can tell? What a joke..

Legal OS or not shouldn't make a difference. Did you try installing the driver from the Add New Hardware wizard instead? Sometimes manual installs work when the setup utility doesn't.
