Should I install it over the stock drivers? Or does it create more problems than it solves? The catalyst drivers don't work the mobility line..

When I frist got my W3J I was using the stock drivers. However, when playing HL2 i got occational crashes. This I could live with as it really wasn't very frequent. But there was another problem. When I existed HL2 the system obviously wasn't recovering all the video memory, as all the icons were missing - icons on my desktop, min,max and close bottons from window control boxes, icons in the address bar of Firefox, even some links in firefox. Installing the omega drivers, althought not as pain free as some make out, sorted both these problems.

I heard somewhere that Omega drivers can cause compatibility problems elsewhere and they are a ***** to get rid off (i.e. format c: )

There is no problem removing the Omega drivers. It comes with an uninstall utility, and there is a boatload of support at www.omegadrivers.net . Fear not - they are the latest ATI drivers with enhancements. A no-brainer to install, if you ask me.

Omegas are easy to install and uninstall, and are superior in every single way to stock drivers.
Omega Drivers for x1600 card. Worth it?
