W3j - 1.8ghz / 8x Super Multi Tray - $1799
W2j - 8x Super Multi Slot - $2499
Advanced orders for the W2j will open up tomorrow. W3j will start right now... all those that already had orders in will go back to their original positions regardless of the new order id (I'll take care of that myself, so don't worry), but I'll let everyone get their orders in at the same time. Looks like the first shipment is going to be slightly smaller than last years first order and given the orders we had when we closed the advanced order a couple weeks ago, I saw we probably have about a week's worth of allocation and I think there is a 99% chance these won't be available upon release and there will be a 2-3 week period between the first and second shipment.
These orders will be processed and charged starting on Monday..
Remember - no member discounts will be allowed on this particular order, instead everyone.... and I mean anyone who sees this post.... can use the coupon code: 50W3JNBR for $50 off automatically. DON'T forget anything.... anything you want shipped with the notebook, order it now... wireless routers.... ram.... batteries... ac adapters... extended WARRANTY... Everything we've got on our site that "works with" the W3j is listed on the W3j's product page - you just have to scroll down. -

For you W2j guys.... I'll give you the same type of promo... $50 off... coupon code is just slightly different: 50W2JNBR
This means no other member program discount things on the W2j either.. -
Justin - I'm speechless - we're back to $1,799 for the W3j...that's amazing. I don't want to get all cheesy here but that really is a testament to impeccable (and unique) business ethics.
Basically it could have "changed" to $1,899 and that was that, but it's not. -

.,... now unless I am not understanding you... that's another story. -
Still, there are some folks out there who wouldn't have given it a second thought to up the price. Kudos, man.

No, I know what you mean... See, last year when we ran the W3v advanced order, the price dropped before the delivery... mainly because Asus would rather quote us a higher price until they get the units and actually pay for them.... and some may remember that there was some BS back then by a couple people saying that I personally was trying to "steal" from people by offering something that didn't exist yet and overcharge. Honestly, I'd say at least 3/4 of anything anyone pre-orders is overpriced and that's the price of getting something first. In our case, with that order, everyone who had ordered knew that if the release price turned out to be lower, their order would be adjusted, but a couple people on the forum blew it out of proportion. So I was prepared to turn on the W3 page at $1899 tonight, even knowing what I knew.. and figuring it wouldn't stop anyone from ordering.... then if Asus told me on Monday that they were kidding me, I wouldn't have to tell anyone there was a change..... But, I figured at $1799 we'd get more orders and I also wanted to put up the W2 page and that dropped in price.... it's honestly a pain to adjust people's orders -- especially once you get into triple digits... so I didn't want to screw it....
so.. what I did was I emailed the PM with the specs I had.... then I asked him to respond back to me and correct in red color type what I was wrong about.... he corrected the 8 in $1899 and made it a 7. Then... I wrote back and said, are you sure it's dropped $100 from the number I was given the other day and yet the configuration is stayed up at the new higher level..... after going back and forth 4-5 times, I believe him... so we're good. -
Justin, a big "Thank You" for all of your time, effort, and assistance. None of what you've done has gone unnoticed or unappreciated, and it was all worth the wait - got my order in tonight
April's gonna be a good month
(And just in case, here's hoping that April 1st goes by uneventfully)
-
Awwwwww man I thought it had something to do with the 20" LCD monitor.
Dang you Justin~! Had me going. -
Got mine in! Too bad I effed up the discount. Discount info is on the first page for the less observant like myself.
Oooh... I've got some good news...
