    OpenGL, Vista and the x1700

    Has anyone gotten OpenGL to work under Vista on the x1700? I can't, and I'm running the new Cat's ... any ideas?

    ATi's ... did ASUS already mod those for us? If so, I'll go ahead and install them.

    Though I just read that the problem is OpenGL+Vista, not just ATi cards. I saw that if you set the application to run as admin + xpsp2 compat, it works so I'll try prey when I get home today.

    7.2+ ATI vista drivers are supposed to boost opengl perfs, not simply make it work which 7.1 is already supposed to do.
    Which game are you trying to run ?

    might be worth trying the asus driver, I wasnt able to install any of the ATI drivers on my F3JP (which is more or less the same core components as your A8J)
    havent tested these games yet
    Is stalker opengl ? that runs fine on my lappy, appart from the mouse lag

    I can't get that game to run well & look good, tbh. But I feel that has a lot to do with Vista more than anything.

    Pray tell, how the hell did you get the new Cats 7.3 to install on your Vista w/ X1700?

    I dunno ... I just downloaded them and it installed.

    I can zip up my extracted directory and upload it if you'd like to see if that'd work for you.
