Where is the RAM compartment located on the back of the w3j? I've looked in the manual and it's pointing locks and an area that isn't even unscrewable. Basically theres the miniPC slot and then the huge back cover that holds everything, do I have to take off the huge cover?

I believe it is the huge cover, as that is also where the CPU is, as the other is the wireless card and the hard drive.

I got the back cover open and I see a module that kind of looks like RAM but no visible way to remove it; and I'm too afraid to touch anything or "dink around"

http://www.everelite.com/mav/lapback.JPG theres a picture of the back panel off, is that module with the bar code like tape on it RAM? and if so why is there only one...pretty sure my setup is 2x 1gb

and for the record I'm trying to remove RAM not install it.I just recieved my w3j in the mail yesterday and I've been plagued with problems and I was told to remove a stick of ram and see if it would fucntion properly

Yeap, that's RAM. To remove it, there are two silver metal tabs, you hold and press them away from the RAM, and the RAM should pop out at a 45 degree angle.

If you already have 2x 1GB, why are you even opening that compartment? Just curious....

its explained in my other thread but in a nutshell I recieved a w3j yesterday and I was plagued with the blue screen of death every 10-30 minutes or so making the laptop near useless. Others suggest that I remove the extra 1gb ram stick to see if that was the problem; which I think it was.

I fitted 2 x 1G sticks of 667 RAM to my W3J and it's been fine. Having the 2 sticks should not be a problem, unless 1 of them is faulty. The other stick is under the keyboard, you have to remove the keyboard to get to it.
