Could someone tell me the 'danger' zone as far as the operating temperature goes?

Is it normal to run about 55-57 (lower load), and 66~ish with games running?

Is it safe to do this for prolonged periods?

    Thanks

Centrino will automatically turn itself 'off' when it hits the 100*C mark.

So you are pretty safe there

Great, now i got another question..

I tried installing new video drivers like smilepak says... here:

    http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=72349

but it keeps coming up with "could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware".

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    How To Install:
    1) Download the nvidia driver
    2) Extract it to a directory
    3) download the latest INF file from www.laptopvideo2go.com and save it
to the same directory you had extracted earlier.
    4) Right click on the desktop and go to properties. This will take you
    to the display control panel.
    5) Click on the settings tab
    6) Click on Advanced button
    7) Click on Adapter tab
    8) Click on Properties button
    9) Click on Driver tab
    10) Click on Update Driver button
    11) Click on "No, Not this time" when asked "Can Windows Connect To Windows Update..."
    12) Click on "Install from a list or specific location"
    13) Click on "Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install"
    14) Click on "Have Disk"
    15) Browse to the location where you had saved the INF file earlier
    16) Select the video card from the list, in Asus Z71V case it is nVidia GeForce Go 6600
    17) Continue with install...

    Reboot...you are done...

As said above.... Asus' systems will shut themselves off well before they get to the "boiling point"........ that shut off isn't 100 degrees I don't think.. but it's around there....... this is mainly incase of fan malfunction as no matter what you do to the system it's pretty impossible to even come close to even the shut off point, no matter what you do.
