Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knew where to buy a replacment optical drive for the G1S-X1/A1/X2. I have looked a bit but haven't found anything.

I couldn't find a replacement on the ASUS eStore, though they do have the bezel. If you go to Device Manager you can tell which make and model drive it is, then you can probably just get a generic one and swap out the bezel.

Dont forget to remove it and check to see if its PATA or SATA.

I think it's a Matsushi ta UJ-850S which is PATA.

Edit: Nope sorry that's the original G1, the G1S has a LG HL GSA-T20L but it's PATA as well.
