    Hi,

I have the F8VA and my optical drive seem to work only intermittently. I upgraded to Windows 7 and it seems my driver is the latest. It would work after a reboot for about 10 minutes before it would just stop working and it won't eject and computer will not operate it, yet it doesn't have any errors when it happens.

Is this a Windows 7 issue? Can someone point me towards perhaps a newer driver? thanks!

All optical drives are PnP so no driver installation is needed.
Your drive is most likely suffering from hardware issues and unfortunately the only option is to replace it.
