What about Intel Active Management Technology software? Should I uninstall it too? i've taken off the others and now it seems redundant.

I removed the finger print software as my finger for some reason don't work on finger print machines. Spent a good 30 minutes in an immigration centre trying to swipe my thumbprints for verification once. Didn't work.

Well I don't know much about Intel AMT but from what I know it seems to be a kind of "designed backdoor" into the system, rather than anything useful (that is, if you're not in a managed, business environment).

So all other things being equal I would definitely recommend removing and/or disabling any software related to this feature.
