Wanted to let you know that I've finally placed my order, after carefully considering several other notebooks.

In specific, I want to thank MilestonePC and ProPortable for their professional advice and help, and ofcourse all other :)

Most probably, I'll write a review by the end of next week including very detailed pictures. If you wish me to include specific aspects in the review, let me know...

    Specs ASUS V1J
    T7200 Core 2 Duo
    80GB 7200 RPM
    1GB 667Mhz
    X1600 256-512

Considering to purchase an additional GB.

Can you please put in some BF2142 performance and some Battlefront 2 performance please? I was wondering how it compares to my Macbook Pro which has approx. the same specs. If you don't have any of those then don't worry about it (they are pretty good games though :)

    thanks,

    Ming

I don't have the games, but I could download the demos :)

Also nice to notice is that the price dropped from €1750,- to €1620!

Great thanks for informing us :D, if possible could you give us a link where your purchasing the V1J?

Also for the review, well there's so much to talk about :D, here's where I would start from, in terms of writing the review.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=69108

You basicaly take ideas from here and put them into your review and make on big spectacular review.

I think in general people would like to know the following things for sure:
    1) Screen quality and how good the screen is.
    2) Battery Life and if you get the modular bay battery that would nice to add in aswell.
    3) Gaming, as many games as you have, test the graphic settings and scaling of the screen at lower resolutions.

1620 Euros = 2100 USD = 2400 CAD, I think that's a pretty good deal for a highend business notebook that has great performance.

    Thanks,

    MilestonePC

That's great Empulse, congratulations. I am VERY tempted by this model, or the A8Js or waiting for the G1P (but that's probably too long a wait for me). I would also appreciate the review - and consider it a great way to pay back the community.

Besides the questions noted by MilestonesPC, I would like to know your take on build quality, if possible compared to, for example, the A8Js.

Best of luck and ENJOY your beautiful machine. Where did you buy it from? That price is GREAT. Check out the price in Spain - almost 2400€ ( another store). Have any idea if the store you bought it would ship to Spain? Is the OS in dutch? If it has english or spanish keyboards? How different is the dutch keyboard to the english one? (I know you can configure any given keyboard to act as one from the other language).

Sorry for so much questions! :) But I hope you agree, that's an important price difference. Thanks again,

    Juan Miguel Venturello

Thanls for reviewing the V1J Empulse! Hope it arrives at notebookreview.com soon, and while your at it, unless you're really used to asus, to post your typing experience with the home, PgUp/Down keys right beside your notebook? I was doing a piece of work on my friend's A6Q000(couple of zeroes) and without even noticing it, it was all weird and sentences were jumbled up everywhere! Wish you well on your new notebook though. a pleasant typing experience You shall have!

    Macs don't SUCK for gaming...they just don't have good games :D :D.

I think he probably Boot Camps, because there are barely any games for Mac OS X.

Ok guys, will be receiving my V1J tomorrow (finally), due to delivery problems it lasted almost two weeks rather than five days.
