I bought an i7 Zenbook off Newegg yesterday for $999. Then I quickly realized that the laptop was over a year old and possibly soon to be updated. I still think I got a good deal on it, but wouldn't mind some second opinions. I'll drop a link to the laptop below:

    Newegg.com - ASUS Zenbook Intel Core i7 4GB 256GB SSD 13.3" FHD Ultrabook Gray Aluminum (UX31A-R4003V)

If the line does update, will the laptop I bought still be a good deal? It's the only i7 model with a 256gb SSD for anywhere near $1000, so I think it will be futureproof, but like I said, I just want some second opinions.

If you guys insist, I will return it without opening the box once it arrives.

I personally think, it's not a bad deal (not the best ever on the other hand) for grand.

you're basically getting the top model of that range (i7, 256GB) and it is extremely unlikely that the updated top specced model would come close to that price.

all depends on your usage. but I'd probably keep it. (I recall some touchpad issues, but I believe these were sorted with driver updates)

You can always get refurbished machines cheaper though.

Just ordered this one myself. Did not get warranty add on. Seems everything has some "issue(s)" and this model seems popular. I hesitated on the aser s7 deal but read it may have some issues also (?).
