Ok so I bit the bullet and ordered the X2 from newegg after returning my X1 to BB. I am going to order the second hdd from newegg now and I am curious as to what drive to order. I know it's a 320gb 72k drive but does anyone know what model # is in the X2?

Best to wait if no one knows for sure. Offhand, it might be the ST9320421AS. You want to be certain, though. Putting in 2 drives that aren't the same model number can cause harmonic oscillations that you will be able to feel when the lappy is running.

You will also need to buy the hard drive caddy from Asus or you won't be using that second drive.

By the way, you made a great choice ditching the X1 for the X2. Congrats!

Adding an extra HDD, won't void the warranty?

No, it won't. The only things that void are generally cpu/gpu work that breaks the warranty stickers covering the screws inside the chassis.
