    Order Intel Pentium M 1.7 -- 400FSB off ebay for $160.00

    Received it today, install it with AS5

    Boot up, BIOS will show 1.7...

    Once into windows, calculated out to 2.26GHz!!!!!!!

    Currently running at full speed w/o undervoltage. Average temp on casual usage according to Mobile Meter...58c!!!!

    Dude! This is sweet.

    That additional speed is actually pretty nice. Especially paying only 160 bucks for a 2.26Ghz speed.

    Man, the speed bonus from my origina. 1.86 is awesome.

    I think only the z71a/v can do it easily because it has a built in dipswitch.

    You'll need to pin-mod for the other models I think.

    Just out of curiosity how do you do a pin mod? What are the advantages (just increased processing speed? How much of an increase could you see?) and are there any possible drawbacks? Im guessing you would see an increase in heat? Any other possible disadvantages? Im already kinda pissed off with the heat so any more would be so great... just out of curiosity, what temps are you getting on your Z71V? U have the 1.86 pm right? How long does ur batterly llast for generally? Thanks for your help

    this only works for the cpus with a 400mhz fsb.
