Hi, first off I just want everyone to know that I did use search for my question but didn't get the results I wanted. Maybe I'm using it wrong, I'm not sure.
Anyways, I'm looking for a good overclocking program for my g1s. I have a 8600m-GT.

I anyone can link me to sites or threads regarding this it would be much appreciated since I can't seem to use search properly.

    Thanks.

Use rivatuner, a quick google should find you some guides.

Aside from Rivatuner, you might also try "NVIDIA system tools" which adds an overclocking section to your display control panel:

    http://www.nvidia.com/content/Drive...ystem_tools/6.05/6.05_nvidia_system_tools.exe

I really liked ATItool, but it doesn't seem to be happy with 64bit OSes.

If you're interested in overclocking your cpu, you should try setfsb. I'm not sure what the mobo on the g1s is, but on the G50vt you use theis pll: ics9lpr604aglf. The site is http://www13.plala.or.jp/setfsb/

    Good luck!

Atitool nearly busted my graphics card =(
It wasn't able to properly notice artifacts during scans. Even ones that were so obvious I could see them. Gonna try Riva now. Lets hope this one works better.

The gpu in the G1S is known to be prone to failure in some units, and likely has nVidia's chemistry bonding problem which is exacerbated and pushes the chip closer to failure with repeated higher temp heat/cool cycles.

OCing the 8600gt in the G1 is going to accomplish precisely that higher temp effect. Proceed at your own risk - esp if you're out of warranty.

I concur. Having owned a C90S that suffered similar heat problems I advise improving your cooling first if you are out of warranty. A few holes carefully drilled in the bottom panel under the GPU followed by use of a laptop cooler should help :D
