It seems that I am unable to overclock the nvidia geforce 9650m gt graphics card in the asus n50. I have tried using Riva Tuner, nTune, Power Strip, and ATI Tool all with no success. Riva Tuner, Power Strip and ATI Tool seemed to be incompatible with my drivers. However, I have tried nvidia drivers, 185.20, 181.20, 180.48, and currently i'm using 179.28 all of which don't work with Riva Tuner and i'm pretty sure they won't work with ATI Tool or Power Strip. Nvidia nTune gives me a BSOD when I try to go to the performance or stability test menu so that doesn't work either. I appreciate it if anyone can help me with this problem.

Check out the Overclocks that Avanish11 got in the N50 owners thread, it should give you an idea of what is attainable, without BSOD. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=4408930#post4408930 -

Just remember that my speeds are not necessarily the max OC you can get. All GPU's are made differently, so some will OC less or more than others. After you have the OC that you think is stable (meaning it passed 6+ hours on the nTune stability testing without any artifacts, etc) I use Folding@Home GPU to see how stable the overclock is. What I thought was stable from looping the nTune test, actually causes the driver to crash with F@H. It places an unrealistic amount of stress on the GPU. An amount that you would never see in real usage.

The program uses your GPU when you're not using it to process proteins and possible cures for many diseases such as Cancer, alzheimers, parkinsons, diabetes, and a few more that escape me as of now. As soon as you start using your GPU, the program immediately stops using it, so nothing bad happens from it. There's an option to pause the work if running on battery, so your battery won't be sucked dry. It would be nice if you kept it running even after you're done stress testing it. -

be sure to post your results and any issues you may encounter...overclocking is a trial and error procedure.

Thanks for the link, just started doing some oc on it, focusing on doing oc on the ram to cope with the fact that its ddr 2.
