I've just recently disovered the Asus P30A and it might just be what I'm looking for. Back on April 21, 2009 Asus sent out a press release, and since then it has seemingly dropped out of the internet spotlight. I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it takes these things to get to the market, and how much you think something like this might go for?

I'm trying to decide between this computer, an Acer timeline or the next line of ultraportable Vaio's.

It seems like this laptop has completely fallen of the face of the earth, which is too bad because I really like the look of it. I don't know why, but I'm a sucker for classic black notebooks.

In general, when a company announces a laptop via press release, how long does it take to get out to consumers?

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I heard that this notebook in particular might not be available in North America.

That is unfortunate. I'll keep my fingers crossed as this one is perfect for me. Thanks for the response though.

The Asus business-class notebooks have never been a popular choice in the US market. IF they are to be released in the US, it will only be available from a small number of resellers.
