An old busted rig of mine has been sitting on my floor in a heap for far too long. Not sure what is wrong, one day it simply wouldn't turn on. I kept taking parts off to try to determine the problem, and still couldn't figure it out. A friend lent me a "Computer motherboard debug card" and I am trying to test it to see what's wrong, figured I would give it a go.
Specs:
Board - ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
GPU - eVGA 7950GX2 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Dual GPU
RAM - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
OS HD - Western Digital Raptor WD360ADFD 36.7GB 10,000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
Right now, the only thing I get is the mobo light comes on when I turn the power supply on..nothing is attached except RAM and processor. The power supply fan, etc does not seem to fire up..not sure why. When I attach the debug card, and flick the power on, the light on the mobo comes on, but the card does absolutely nothing. From the directions, it seems that LEDs are supposed to show, and they do not. It simply plugs into the PCI slot, but it has a 4x1 pin connector that perhaps is a power source for it? Have no idea where it plugs into on the mobo though... can anyone help here that is familiar with this mobo or has used one of these "debug cards" before?
It's been awhile since attempting to fix this, and I realize it is a bit vague, but I will answer any questions.. thanks!
