I'm trying to replace my hard drive right now on my asus w3v and can't seem to find the old hdd or the ribbon cable that connects the drive to the mainboard. Can anyone point me to a place where I would be able to buy this cable? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the Asus eStore?

Trouble is that this is old old tech and Asus hasn't used PATA hdd's since the W3a/v model revision 3 years ago; the -j models were sata drives as I recall. How did you misplace the ribbon after you'd removed the old hdd?
