    PC speakers not muting when using external speakers

    Title says it all. When pluggin a minijack to the speaker output, the pc speakers does not mute. Pretty anoying when using headphones.
    No problems with external sound.

    I actually had this problem a few years ago when I bought my computer, but somehow this problem solved itself by some reason.
    There are some threads regarding this... did asus actually fix this or is it still a common problem?

    Assuming (since it went away the last time) that it's a software problem, you could try a driver reinstall / newer driver version / different driver supplier (ASUS vs. soundcard manufacturer, for instance).
