    n82jv if you can, else the k42jv. The JV's optimus will improve battery life considerably.
    If you care, you should also consider the differences in USB3, webcam quality, and looks (N82s are considered prettier)

    wait do you mean n82jq? or n82jv? And is there any issues with overheating with either of these laptops (k42jv and n82jq)?

    The n82jq and the n82jv are different in only their processors. The jq has an i7, and both JVs have i5's. The i5's have integrated intel HD gpu's allowing them to use optimus.

    Does the optimus technology only improve the laptops battery life? Or is there other benefits to it?

    i DO NOT recommend the k42jv. I owned it and returned it. It has quite awful battery life, and it gets swelteringly hot at the vent. The performance is really good though. Do not expect to use this on your lap though.

    Optimus is solely for battery ife.
