So I just recently got an Asus UX301LA and I found the touchpad options a little lacking (such as the lack of ability to have 3-finger tap, 2-finger click etc.). Furthermore, I was also plagued by a well-known bug that Asus Smart Gesture (or w/e it's called) causes the CPU to ramp up to 100% occasionally, overwriting your power profile settings, setting minimum CPU state to 100%. So I decided to figure out how to fix it. After some finagling, I found that the following steps work:

    Downloads
    1. Asus Generic Elan Driver: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Touchpad
    2. Some kind of other Elan driver, I used this one: Download MSI GE70 2PC Apache Elantech Touchpad Driver 11.13.6.2 for Windows 7 64 bit

    Steps
    1. Uninstall Smart Gesture
    2. Uninstall ATKACPI
    3. Uninstall Power4Gear (optional, I believe)
    4. Reboot
    5. Install the Asus Generic Elan Driver
    6. Reboot
    7. Open up RegEdit
    8a. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Elantech\SmartPadDisplay
8b. Change every key with the word "Display" in it to 1
    9a. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Elantech\SmartPad
9b. Change every key with the word "ShowItem" in it to 1
    10. Unzip the other Elan driver, and inside the folder, and open /X64/ETDAniConf.exe
    11. Change all the things!
    12. Profit?!

That's it! This should enable all options that the touchpad can support. Do note that if you reboot or log out, then some of the settings will disappear unless you change the registry keys again, but it won't effect your settings.
