    Hello,

Does anyone know offhand if the Asus A8Js supports the Panasonic UJ-851 dvdrw drive?

I'm not sure what specs the Asus A8Js dvdrw drive is, but this drive says it will replace any standard 12.7mm slim laptop drive.

    Thanks in advance.

    Two things:

    1. There are two types of notebook drives... 12.7mm and 9.5mm.... The a8 uses the larger 12.7, and that's a standard, any 12.7mm drive will physically work.

    2. All manufacturers have different faceplate connections.... so if you want the faceplate from your A8 to work, you'll want to get one of the same brand.

Any particular reason you want to swap what you have out with that model?
