I have an Asus z70v and Im using the Power4Gear software it comes with for changing my power settings. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to set it so that the Pentium M runs at its max performance on AC or DC power? The reason I ask is becasue I was playing homeworld (ya the original) on "high performance" (highest it goes on DC power) and when I zoomed in on explosions it seemed to slow down and Im worried that the 7**Mhz that it says it is running at during idle in high performance is what it is running at in the game. Is there a way to tell it when to bump up performance or is it automatic.? Any help or advice would eb appreciated, thanks.

on battery your cpu will dynamically change depending on load, when your in high or game mode. On max battery it will be locked at its lowest clock speed while the others do various things inbetween. I personally find p4g great although others dislike it for some reason. Its great being able to swich profiles at the touch of a button!
As for your game it is unlikely that the slow down is due to your cpu, more like the gpu which on battery is probably running at a lower clock speed. I believe ati has a similar power saving feature on there gpus.
    hope this helps

ps. Cpu-z is a great little tool for testing what speed your cpu is running at.

pps best not to double post as this makes it difficult for others to answer usefully. I will delete the other post now.
