OK, it's expensive, but I know some people just have to have it...... it's about $260 more than the 2.13ghz, but hey.. it's new and the fastest one you could buy.

Using the 1.8x mulitplier commonly used to compare the new 533mhz Pentium-M's to a P4.... this would equal the performance of a 4.07ghz P4.

The rest of the cpu's didn't drop in price because they already made their drop for the quarter at the begining of last month in anticipation of the 780 coming out.

Jeez, will the stock cooling of something like a Z70V be able to effectively keep up with that? My PM 740 hovers around 60 w/o undervolting, so it seems like the 780 would get pretty toasty...

The difference between the 730 and 780 isn't all that much under normal use.... the thing is, if you run it without powersaving features, to where it's running full speed all the time, you'll have more heat issues, but remember... they're still within the operating temps. If you need that cpu, it'll be fine. If you don't need it and/or can't afford it.... it's not right for you anyway.........

... toasty, yes.... but the 2.13's are fine and this shouldn't get much hotter under a full load... Now, even though we'll offer any cpu in any system.... I wouldn't suggest it in something like the Z33..... there's not much need for it in something like that, but some one with a lot of money just burning a whole in their pocket will want to pick it up without having a realy need for it.
