    Hi

I would like to upgrade my memory on my Asus N53JG. The first to slots next to the HDD is easy to find. The other to should be somewhere under the keyboard, is there any pictures or video or tutorial available for how to access these? I have of course searched the internet but without any luck. :err:

    Best regards!

EDIT: If there aren´t any video, mayby someone knowes were the other two memory slots are positioned in the Asus N53jg (or similar)? And if it´s easy to access or if I should avoid trying?

    Best regards

Doesn't the n53 have only 2 SODIMM slots as is customary for most laptops?

No, the N53JG has four slots. The spec. and Asus support confirms that. It should be placed under the keyboard they said, but where I wonder? :)

All 4 slots should be next to each other. if the MB has 4 RAM slots then you will see 4, if it only comes with 2 slots then you only see 2 slots:

Thank you JOSEA. I have checked the manual. Unfortunally the manual doesn´t include detalled information about the ram position or access.

    Have a great day!

Thank you GenTechPC for your effort. That should do it. I guess I have looked for something that is´nt there then  . I was missled by the store and Asus support about the position of the second two ram slots.

    Great thanks!

It depends on what CPU cam with the laptop, if it's dual core then it will have only 2 slots since dual core can't not support more than 2 RAM slots. if the laptop came with quad core Asus will put the mainboard with 4 RAM slots on N53.

But that's not the case on all Asus laptops, N55 for example, it only has 2 RAM slots whether it is dual core or quad core CPU.

Hmm.... I've got an ASUS N53 with Quad Core, and I can only find 2 slots. Weird enough as the company I bought it from states that it have 4 slots in total. Nonetheless, the company sent me the two extra RAM together with the notebook. And I've read on ASUS's site that it does indeed have 4 slots total when Quad core. I really need some help here. I have taken a picture of the two slots which I can find. Please help me out here.
    Thanks in advance.

I can see that you doesnt have got a answer to yor question. Maybe I´m going to say somthethin obvious, but I dare :=) - Looking at the picture you attached you can see that the slots are named slot 3 and slot 4. Therefore you must have two more slots somewhere. But where would you find them, thats the million dollar question. I have not got an answer to my request and sadly the Asus support couldn´t be more specifik than the should be located under the desktop.

Hope you find out more information about this. If you do, please let me know.

    Good luck! / megds

You do have 4 slots, the installed RAM is on slot 1 and 2 which is above slot 3 and 4. if you remove the RAM you will see it.
