Hey all, have just placed an order for the above. The only store I know of in Aust that does the Z71V is a company by the name of Digitalstar here in Sydney. So I went out there today to have a look at the two different displays and make a final decision after seeing the V6V and a few other really nice models. Anyway after pricing a few different configurations, I basically ticked all the boxes to come up with the following. Can't wait for delivery on Wednesday, this thing should be a real beast!

    ASUS Z71V 15.4" 1680x1050 GF6600
    8 x Dual Layer DVD-/+RW DVD
    Pentium-M 770 2.13G 2M 533MHz
    2GB x PC4200 DDR2-533
    100GB 5400rpm
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Intel Pro/Wireless G 2915ABG

    Cheers,
    Paul

Thanks very much. What resolution display have you got? Just wondering what the general feeling is on the 1680x1050.

I have the same resolution as you.

My first impression was that the fonts are small, but you can increse the size of desktop icons by going to CONTROL PANEL---Accessibility OPTIONS--- -font size ---largest.

In the internet explorer-hold the control button down and scroll to increase the font size --VOILLA!!!!

    Cheers

Excellent. The font size isn't so much and issue for me but for my wife, but she gave it the thumbs up in the store. We're using it as a desktop replacement because the study has been turned into a nursery with our first little one expected any day now. I went the 100GB option to store many impending photos and video clips...
