Hey guys,
Please can you help me with my fresh install of win xp and other necessary stuff on my w3j. Lately I had to format the drive and I need help. I think I have to use recovery discs that came with the laptop to install fresh win XP but after that I don't know what to install. I would like everything to be like when I just got my w3j. I would like to upgrade to catalyst 6.8 but other than that I want everything the same is it used to be. Please can anyone can direct me what to install and what not to install to have the best possible stable performance with all needed fixes and programs installed.
(I have 2 recovery discs and driver & utility disc ver. 2.0)
This is my first laptop so I am not very knowledgeable what to do.
Please help me
Thank You very much.

It's not hard, the recovery discs make it so its a breeze to reformat.
All you need to do is to boot up the machine with the recovery disc and follow the directions. -
Yes it is easy, just make sure in your BIOS (pressing F10) at boot that your CD/DVD drive is first to boot, then just boot up the machine with the recovery disc and follow the instructions as coriolis said.

thanks a lot, it was easy

In the future, if you need to do this, you can also use the built-in recovery partition without even needing the CDs.

Yep...F9 just after the bios to enter recovery mode. Much much quicker than loading the recovery cds
