Hi guys im new here, i just recently bought a ASUS G72 laptop and love the thing. Here is my problem when i got the computer i did a restore right away to get rid of the unwated software. After that whenever i restart the laptop i always get greeted with "YOUR COMPUTER IS BEING SET UP FOR THE FIRST TIME" or something like that screen and everything just resets it self like my overclock which is at 5% , all my passwords like yahoo.com email, or any other site, plus the name is set to Administrator is there any way to change that ? How do i get rid of this problem ? All the drivers are current im not sure what could be the problem ? Thank you guys in advance for any help. One more thing whenever i start up the computer i get this pop up it says System Preparation Tool , its like for Enter System out of Box Expirence ? And i get this screen everytime i start the laptop, when i try to run it ill get an error after a little bit?

If you used the Disk method of reinstalling the software, you probably did not complete setting everything up.

I know when I restored my G51 with the supplied disks, windows would install, and then it would prompt me for drivers and whatnot, etc. On the initial bootup to vista, it would run for about 30 minutes copying and setting everything up.

THEN once everything was done, the comp would restart, and i would greeted with the very same startup and welcome procedure that happened the very first time i powered the computer up after i bought it.

I hope that helped shed some light on the Issue.

What I would recommend doing, is getting a copy of WinVista or Win7 and doing a fresh format/install from that, and then simply installing all the needed drivers from Asus' website. That's the best way to not have all the bloatware and whatnot that came pre packaged with your comp.

Let me know if that answered anything.
