Hello, Guys! I think this forum is the right place for my monitor problem.

My ASUS A6000 believes it has only external monitors (TV and CRT ones). It startups with that idea and it gives NO option to switch to LCD monitor using Fn-F8 keys.

In Device Manager, it lists two Plug-and-play Monitors and one Default Monitor.

I can choose another Default Monitor in Display Properties and obtain the option for Fn-F8-switch to LCD monitor. But it will startup with black LCD next time.

I can remove all Monitors but one Default Monitor in Device Manager, and it increases the chance to startup with LCD next time. But in most (70%) cases it will start on external monitor (black LCD).

I went to Display Properties -> “NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100” adapter tab and pushed “Detect Displays” button. It then lists only Laptop Display here but still the same tree monitors in Device Manager and in Display Properties, still the monitor is shown as “(Multiple Monitors) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100” in Display Properties and still the same black-LCD startup.

    Please HELP !!!

It is ASUS A6000 notebook with W2k system. The adapter is NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100. The driver is the latest NVIDIA 8.4.6.4. of 2006.04.27. Re-installed it several times: no changes.

Any your ideas would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
