Hi I have an A2K (or A2000) Notebook from Asus also called the Z80K series. I want to exchange my old Harddisk (which is defect), but I cant figure out on how to put out the HD. There are 2 screws on the downside of the laptop exactly where the HD is, so i put them out, but the Harddisk won't move out. What do I do wrong? Is there any screws on the inside of the case, or a mechanism I have to pull or press to get it out?

Please someone help me, someone who knows this kind of series, it is really urgent.

Assuming you have taken the HD cover off, you now see your HD inside a metal caddy, correct? There should also be a piece of thin black plastic, do you see that?

Hello! Thx for your answer! However I am not clear what you mean exactly, can you describe each step detailed?

As for now I have openend the 2 screws. I cannot even pull out the HD piece out of the Notebook-peripherie. Which cover do I have to pull off you mean? Sorry I dont understand exactly.. do you mean the small cover with covers the HD from outside OR the complete cover, in which- i guess - the HD lays in (the caddy)?

Pls describe each steps detailly, because I have only this one computer to look to the forums, which is the same with the defect HD (with knoppix using each start, being in the RAM and accessing internet, but I have to switch the computer off each time when trying to pull the HD out. I guess it's not good to pull it off while running the computer)

ps forgive me my bad english

The HD should be contained in a metal 'caddy', almost like a protective case. You should be able to horizontally move the HD out of its socket.

Since you understand what the caddy is from what it seems, do you see a thin black plastic piece attached to it? It's attached to the HD caddy and should be quite movable.

If there isn't, can you slide the HD out?
