this was hard to decide for me since both are real good systems.
the c90 is easily upgradable but doesnt have good battery life which is convenient for me.
The G1, i assume would be lighter and sleeker. correct me if im wrong there.
so i personally go for the G1.

c90 and g1 are approximately the same weight. C90 is actually thinner than the g1 in dimensions except the the turbo engine portion sticking out.

For me, i like to be flashy, so i'll go for G1. It has "gaming" written on the lid :) and i always wanted a gaming notebook.

I have just acquired a brand new G1S a couple hours ago. Couldn't be happier. I think its the perfect laptop for me. Thought about getting the C90 but the G1S is so sleek and silent. Maybe when I have time (ha) I'll pick up a C90 to tinker around with.

I'd personally go for the C90 - especially now that you can get it with a 8600m GT with GDDR3 (last time I checked, not sure if the GDDR3 card has issues or anything).

The G1s is sweet, but it's a little on the expensive side for my taste. Also, even though I thought the online pictures were cool, I didn't really like the look of the G1s when I saw it at Best Buy.

For me its the C90S, the G1S is way to load for me (looks wise). Not to mention, hoefully next year there will be a video card upgrade to say a 9 series, makes it all worth is.

c90 definitely because of the price and gpu upgradability.

I'm sure this has been discussed before and I can't remember whether there was a conclusion to yes or no BUT I think that while the notebook is upgradeable there is no guarantee that the 9 series is going to work on it. And newer series CPUs will probably not work on it either. As I see it the upgradeability of those two parts will only be for a short while, and not to significantly faster or less power consuming technology.

Correct me if I'm wrong, as I would consider getting the C90s if it seemed like it had a bit more potential to be upgraded with lower power faster CPUs and GPUs a year from now.

Higher GPU's are said to use 22W, the C90s can supposedly take 25W. If this is at all a heat issue you speak of.

I like the c90 for its looks. Im one of those guys who prefers analog watches over the fancy smanchy digital ones (Trying to save up for an omega), and i cant stand the cars that every one considers "hot" (the bright orange, green, yellow ones).
