After much hemming and hawing, I've decided to get the Asus W7J. Next big decision: where to buy it from?
May I request W7J owners in the United States to please share where you bought your unit from, what made you pick that vendor, and how satisfactory your experience has been with the vendor? Thanks!

I ordered from www.milestonepc.com because they were one of the few resellers that had the option of upgrading ram/hdd. well I could've done it myself , heard it's pretty easy to mod, but it saves a lot of hassle and since I've never done it before it's probably safer to let them do it. It's a good price. They called me last weekend and told me their US store is ready and my notebook would be shipped tuesday (yesterday) and indeed it is. Very nice and helpful people. Can't wait for my brand new w7j to arrive

Other reliable places include but not limited to, PowerNotebooks, Geared2Play, ProPortable and C9Tech.

I had a good experience with milestonepc as well, fast shipping and a good price. Danny answered my e-mails quickly. I love my w7, it's a cool little machine...

i ordered mine yesterday finally from ProPortable. sean, their sales manager, always responded to my emails quickly and even at night and on weekends. he was a lot of help and put up with my many questions over the course of several weeks. i should get mine tomorrow or the day after

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback.
The MilestonePC website says they used to be called CanadaSys, and CanadaSys has few and rather discouraging ratings at Resellerratings.com ( http://www.resellerratings.com/seller10545.html). Did they go by yet another name? -
They're more of a Canadian dealer, so they weren't really big on using RR, I barely use RR as well, since its more of a US site.

MilestonePC has a good reputation around this forum and they've been very prompt, helpful, and fair with my order. I haven't received my order yet, so I can't comment on after-purchase support, but the "very dissatisfied" person on ResellerRatings seems a bit suspect to me.

I purchased mine at startech also known as Allasus.com and John Fierst was terrific. Answered every question [and there were LOTS of them] patiently]. He Upgraded my machine and took over the warranty. His price is right and his service is topnotch.
I'd also recommend Geared2play, Proprtable and Powernotebooks but in this case I went with allasus and I don't regret it at all. -
I'm awaiting delivery from milestonepc.com. I find the owner to be honest and responsive, and the upgrade prices were very good. However, I have not receive my unit yet (in transit) so I can comment more at that time.

I ordered the W7J Supra with the Asus extended warranty from Powernotebooks last night. I've already spoken with Donald to verify that the order is legit, but I need to call him again from home tonight because my home phone number is the one on record with the credit card that I used for the purchase.
Many thanks to everyone who responded. -
You won't be sorry you went with them and you'll love the machine.

I bought mine from www.ewiz.com, they had by far the cheapest price and I was happy with the service. The price I paid was 1349.30 plus UPS ground for 21.12, and I paid 5.99 to guarentee it would ship the same day I ordered, total $1376.41. AFter i placed the order online they called me to confirm everything, and the customer service reps were very helpful. I keep checking the UPS tracking like every hour, i'm so excited.

MilestonePC here. I sent emails everywhere... i harassed ALOT of resellers with questions, lol.
End of the day, Milestone had the best price for me, and with that zero bright dot policy, i know i'm getting a screen that should (atleast for the first 30 days?) have no bright dots.
He answered most, if not all, of my emails with professionalism.
(to be honest, my favorite reseller.... as far as responses go, was PortableOne.com.... but they didn't have the W7J at the time (and still dont? or did that change? hum)) -
Bought mine from Justin at Proportable. Justin has a strong presense on this board and I know I will get my questions answered in a timely manner. Customer service is great.

Guys I am planning to order my W7J today but the thing is I will not be able to answer the phone at the address my cc is registered with since im on vacation and will be coming back home in 2 weeks. Where do you think I should order it from ?? I have my dad at home so I guess he can answer the phone if they call but what details do they ask for... so i can tell him in advance (since he doesnt have my cc details)
thanks for ur help -
I am in the same boat, I want to order a W3J but if I gotta make the order call from my CC record then I am screwed. I am overseas doing work!!!
I want to place the order and ship it to a friends address so he can then forward it to my overseas place. Is that possible? -
Best if you ask the dealer themseves.
