So I recently purchased a used UX32VD of roughly 2 years of usage (surprisingly, in awesome condition!).
I didn't have the budget to purchase any of the newer Zenbooks and it's hard to find any of the Infinity's or LN's in Canada.

Anyway, it's the i7 Model, I have it formatted on an SSD (Samsung 840 EVO) and added extra RAM.

Problem is, while light browsing, the battery indicator says that it has roughly 2hr 30 mins-3 hr 30 mins of battery life.
    That's not normal is it?

    What can I do?

If the previous user used it a lot on battery that could be normal. On a brand new battery you should get more, but a 2yr old one that may be right. Its really hard to say for sure without knowing the full history of the computer.

The ivy bridge processors get around half the battery life of current has well chips. That combined with newer more efficient materials give current generation ultrabooks 7-8 hours of battery life. Your model will have degraded in the two years it was used but it may not have gotten fantastic battery in the first place.

What you are reporting is about the same as mine on my two year old ux32vd. Based on my experience it is pretty normal. As another poster said newer generation machines do considerably better.

As others have affirmed: that sounds about right, given the age of the laptop (although as Hutsady said, we're in the dark on the extent of how the laptop was used previously). It's true also that 4th gen Intel chips capitalize on low power consumption compared to the previous generation chips.
