    Hi.
All window speaker settings at 100%. Looked in Bios and the speaker setting is at 4. But it is also greyed out.
How do I get this changed to 8 (read on forums) or better yet what allows me to change the greyed out number.
I have looked at admin settings, couldn't see anything there that would help.

Hopefully the Asus Forum brain has the answer.

    Thanks.
    M

    Sorry specs:

I think the BIOS speaker setting is just for the sound when the comptuer initially boots. It's grayed out because you have that sound turned off. If you enable the sound then you will be able to adjust that sound level but it wont have anything to do with the computer sound, just the initial boot.

it depends on the laptop. some older asus laptop have an issue with playback of dvd / bluray movies but will sound ok with streaming movies. you have a few options. the best option is to try some of the other decoders besides win dvd / windows media player. some other players have built in sound control that will help you apmplify the sound. this is technically a soft issue because the speakers are capable of much more.

VLC Player has a built in amplification of up to 400% during playback, but in "sounds" in control panel, selecting "Configre" for your speakers, there are various settings under "Enhancements" which might be able to squeeze out a bit more volume.
